98 Students To Graduate From Bermuda College
Bermuda College has announced that ninety-eight students will be awarded their associate degrees, diplomas, or certificates on May 16, with 62% of the Class of 2024 graduating with honours.
A spokesperson said, “Ninety-eight Bermuda College graduands will receive associate degrees, diplomas or certificates, on Thursday, May 16, under the big tent on the College’s athletic field. Sixty-two percent of the Class of 2024 will be graduating with honours, earning either merit [GPA 3.0 – 3.49 [29%]] or distinction [GPA 3.5 – 4.0 [25%] recognition.
“The Associate of Arts [Business Administration] programme has produced 19 graduates, once again dominating the associate degree programme offerings. Seven graduates are dual enrolment students who will be awarded associate degrees or certificates, prior to receiving their high school graduation certificates next month from their respective high schools; nine students are Phi Theta Kappa members, having maintained a minimum GPA of 3.5 throughout their academic journey with BC.
“In addition, four students will be graduated from the Mount Saint Vincent Bachelor in Business Administration [BBA] programme.”
Interim President, Mrs. Branwen Smith-King said, “As we are mere months away from the launch of our 50th anniversary celebrations, I am confident that this distinguished Class of 2024 will continue to carry on the legacy of the Bermuda College ‘student success’ experience in bold and pioneering ways – whether in the local marketplace, in entrepreneurial initiatives or in higher education excellence, overseas. I am so very proud of them all and wish them continued success.”
The spokesperson said, “The 2024 Commencement speaker is B. Dylan Hollis, TikTok celebrity, and New York Times best-selling author of his first cookbook, Baking Yesteryear. Graduate Student Speaker is Jon Hendrickson, Diploma, Culinary Arts [with distinction]. The ceremony will be livestreamed on CITV beginning at 2:30 p.m.”
