Traffic Advisory For Bicycle Race On June 2
The Ministry of Public Works announced a traffic advisory for the Bermuda Bicycle Association Road Race on June 2nd.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Bicycle Association VT Construction Road Race will occur on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, between 8:00 am and 10:30 am. The following roads will be affected:
Race Route: The race commences and concludes on St. Mark’s Road. The participants proceed to the junction of St. Mark’s Road and South Road and turn left onto South Road. They proceed East along South Road and turn left onto Paynters Road before turning left onto Harrington Sound Road. The participants turn left onto Middle Road and then left onto Verdmont Road. They turn left onto St. Mark’s Road and proceed to the finish line.
Traffic Control: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at 8:00 am and is expected to conclude by 10:30 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collisions with race participants. The race route will be controlled by Police Officers and Race Marshals. Motorists must follow the instructions from the Police Officers and Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.
Road Closures: There will be no roads closed to traffic while the road race takes place.
“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Dominique Mayho, at 599-2993.
“In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorised to “Close off” streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
