Mia Fishel was among the star guests at the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday [May 17].
Fishel, whose father is Bermudian, conducted several interviews at the annual event and attended the FIFA delegates football match.
The Chelsea Women and United States women’s national team forward wrote on Instagram: “The big adventure in Thailand continues for Big Fish [her nickname].”
She added: “It’s been a really cool atmosphere at the 74th FIFA Congress. I’m enjoying my time here so far.”
Fishel underwent knee surgery in March after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury while training with the US women’s national team on the eve of the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
Her Chelsea team-mates claimed a fifth successive Women’s Super League [WSL] title today after beating Manchester United 6-0 at Old Trafford in coach Emma Hayes’ final game in charge.
Hayes will reunite with Fishel after being appointed the new coach of the US women’s national team.
Fishel, who was born in San Diego, California, joined Chelsea from Mexican club Tigres on a three-year contract last summer, scoring once in ten appearances in the WSL this term.
She made her senior US debut as a substitute in a win over South Africa in September last year.
