A Government spokesperson said, “Minister Weeks is back on the Island this week after attending a three-day conference in Miami focused on Caribbean cooperation and coordination in combating Anti-Corruption and Illicit Finance.
“Last week’s conference, sponsored by the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and CARICOM IMPACS, brought together Ministers of National Security, Attorneys General, and other senior government officials from across the Caribbean.
“Minister Weeks engaged in critical discussions to enhance regional collaboration and cooperation to address the serious and growing threats of illicit financing and corruption.
“Attendees were apprised of the specific threats to security that are posed by illicit financing and corruption and discussed a road map to solutions to the problem.
“The conference served as a platform for sharing strategies and strengthening collective efforts to safeguard the region’s integrity and security.”
Minister Weeks added: “This conference has been instrumental in bolstering the necessary cooperation among Caribbean nations and Overseas Territories to effectively combat these issues.
