BE Solar Installs Solar Panels On Argus Building

August 26, 2024 | 4 Comments

BE Solar announced the successful completion of an innovative solar panel project at the Argus Group’s Wesley Street headquarters in Hamilton.

A spokesperson said, “This 130 Aptos panel system installation marks a signifcant step towards sustainability and energy leadership in Bermuda’s corporate sector.

“This initiative, designed with advanced double-sided solar panels that ensure a steady production of clean energy for at least 30 years, is part of Argus’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, as laid out in their 2023 Sustainability Report.

Stratton Hatfeld, Chief Sales & Marketing Offcer, BE Solar said, “We were honored to be selected to install this system at Argus, enhancing their facilities with reliable Enphase microinverter technology, panel-level monitoring, and crucial environmental impact data.

“This robust, hurricane-resistant technology has been instrumental in ensuring the durability and effectiveness of a system that prioritizes solar energy over traditional electricity sources. Since becoming operational in August 2023, the system has prevented over 34 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, an achievement equivalent to planting 588 trees or charging over 4 million smartphones.”

Kimberley Caines-Best, Chair of the Argus Sustainability Management Committee, stated: “We are immensely grateful to BE Solar for their partnership on this project. Their expertise and commitment to quality made them a joy to work with, ensuring a seamless integration of this sustainable technology at our offces. This is just one of the many steps we are taking to embed climate change considerations into our operations and governance to meet our climate related goals.

“By reducing our carbon footprint, adopting energy-effcient technologies, and increasing awareness among our colleagues, we hope to embody the role of responsible leaders in our industry. This approach not only aligns with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks but also positions us to effectively manage climate-related risks and opportunities. We hope this adoption encourages others to make choices that drive positive change, promoting a healthier planet for future generations.”

“This project’s impact is substantial: In the next 30 years, the project is projected to prevent 3,137 barrels of oil from being consumed and 1,629 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.”

    Oh no! Not sustainability!
    Oh no! Not robust!
Solar panels are not “clean energy.”
How much CO2 was released to mine the raw materials (plus the environmental damage), transport, process, manufacture, transport to the distributor, transport to the buyer, and install? How much fossil fuel was consumed in the entire process?

Would you purchase a car that only started 12% or less of the time?
Solar panels must be backed up by evil fossil fuel-powered generators.
The earth is doing just fine and does not need saving.

Installing solar pannels on any roof is a stupid idea and a clasic example of poor judgement !

Solar Energy Contributes to Climate Change Some, Study Finds
By Carolyn Williams November 03, 2015

Large solar installations affect global and regional climate by taking solar radiation and distributing it in a different manner than natural processes. In turn, the farms change local radiation balance, “resulting in changes in atmospheric circulation.”

Simply put, the panels reflect heat energy upwards and block the natural absorption of energy by the ground and buildings, and the natural slow release of that heat energy over time. Solar panels HEAT the air. Opps…
