Govt House Celebrates Bermuda’s Olympians
Government House extended their congratulations to Bermuda’s athletes following their performances at the Paris Olympics.
There were eight athletes representing the island at the Paris Games: triathletes Dame Flora Duffy, Erica Hawley and Tyler Smith, swimmers Emma Harvey and Jack Harvey, rower Dara Alizadeh, sailor Adriana Penruddocke and triple jumper Jah-Nhia Perinchief.
Government House posted the images below online and said, “That was a blast! What a massive privilege to cheer on the talented athletes of Team Bermuda in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Congratulations to all the athletes who represented Bermuda and those who made it possible.”
Governor Rena Lalgie attended the Games in Paris and previously told Bernews that the island can be “incredibly proud” of the Bermuda athletes competing in the pinnacle of their sports.
“It’s been wonderful to see such a strong and diverse team representing Bermuda at the Olympics,” the Governor told Bernews. “It’s always great to see the international sporting community come together, and Bermuda is definitely on the sporting map.
“Bermuda can be incredibly proud of its athletes and the entire team sitting behind them helping them reach this stage – family, friends and coaches.”
