Traffic: Road Closure For Vehicle Removal
Part of Harbour Road in Paget Parish will be closed between 10:00am and 12:00pm today [Sept 19] to “allow for the placement of a crane to extract a submerged vehicle from Hamilton Harbour.”
Bermuda Police Service Statement
A police spokesperson said, “Please be advised that between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. today, efforts will be made to remove the motorcar which went off Harbour Road and landed in an area of Hamilton harbour, between Valley Road and Highwood Lane.
“That area of Harbour Road will be closed to all traffic while the vehicle is being removed.
“Traffic diversions will be in place at the junctions of Lovers Lane and Harbour Road, as well as the junction of Chapel Road and Harbour Road.”
Ministry of Public Works Statement
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that Harbour Road in Paget Parish will be closed for an emergency today, Thursday, 19 September 2024.
“From 10 a.m., Harbour Road from Harvey Road to Highwood Lane will be closed to allow for the placement of a crane to extract a submerged vehicle from Hamilton Harbour. The closure will remain in place until the vehicle is removed.
“Representatives from Pimental Crane Services will manage traffic control using barricades, signs, and cones.
“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes via Middle Road. Please find the attached notice for more details.”
