All the best for the pedestrian. I think “collision” is an incorrect description of a multi-ton metal bus hitting a flesh and blood human being. Run over? Smashed? Impacted? Crushed?

Dare I ask if this was an electric bus and the longer braking distance was a cause?

I think you mean the pedestrian should be changed to jaywalker.

      • Joe Bloggs says:

So-called “jaywalking” is an American concept. There is no law in Bermuda against crossing a road anywhere a person wishes. Pedestrian crossings exist for safety and convenience, but there is no law that say a person must cross a road at a designated crossing.

        • A Towzer says:

So the pedestrian can just dart into traffic and huge machines like buses are supposed to stop on a dime? I wonder if they got hit by a government vehicle on purpose.

“So the pedestrian can just dart into traffic”

No. People are still expected to use common sense, it is simply not a crime for someone to “dart into traffic” at will in Bermuda (or most of the commonwealth).

          • Hilarious says:

What is your definition of “dart?” How does a 77-year-old elderly tourist “dart?”

      • LALA says:

Did you see the accident happen?

    Was there no CCTV coverage?
