The Bermuda Karting Association’s inaugural race day saw exciting races and standout performances from top drivers.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] ignited the engines and the excitement at its inaugural race day held at the Bermuda Motor Sport Park in St. Davids on Sunday. With a vibrant atmosphere and fierce competition, the event attracted karting enthusiasts of all ages, showcasing the best of local talent.

“The day featured thrilling races across multiple categories, with standout performances in the Tag Senior division. Brian Bulhoes dominated the heats, clinching first place in Heat 1 and 2, while Jauza James took the top spot in Heat 3.

“In the Tag Junior category, Syah Pedro emerged victorious in Heat 1 and continued his strong performance to finish second in Heat 2, Hunter Borland took the checkered flag in Heat 2, while Ethan Wheatley took the win in Heat 3.

“The L206 category saw Stephen Corrado, racing in the #91 kart, showcase his skills, triumphing in Heats 1 and 2 with Ryan Rebello winning Heat 2.

“In the Shifter class, Ryan Burgess took Heat 1 in an impressive run to the finish line, but it was Ryan Rebello who proved his prowess, finishing first in Heat 2 and 3, including a nail-biting showdown with Blake Horseman in Heat 2.

“The Jr. Cadet category was dominated by Tanner Correia, who secured a clean sweep of victories across all heats, leaving no doubt about his potential for future races. Alondro Albouy impressed the crowd with an outstanding result of second place in all heats followed by Jonathan Linberg, a newcomer this season, alongside Jacob Garrett who also joined the BKA this season as our two newest Jr. Cadet drivers. We wish them well in the season and look forward to what they bring in the coming races.

“The BKA’s first race day was not just about competition; it fostered a sense of community, with families and friends cheering for their favorite racers. As the sun set over the track, the Bermuda Karting Association’s inaugural race day left drivers and spectators alike, buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the season ahead. The BKA’s next race day will be Sunday, October 27th, 2024. See you at the track!”

The Bermuda Karting Club’s 2024/2025 race season got underway at the Southside Motor Sports Park.

Brian Bulhoes won two of the three tag senior class races, with Jauza James winning the other, while there were three different winners in the tag junior class races.

Stephen Corrado won two of the three L206 class races, with Ryan Rebello winning the other.

Rebello won two of the shifter class races, with Ryan Burgess winning the other, and Tanner Correia won all three races in the cadet class.
