Saltus Wins Middle School U13 Six A Side
Saltus Grammar School won the 2024 Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School under 13 six a side tournament after a 5-1 final victory over Somersfield Academy.
A spokesperson said, “Jace Postlethwaite gave Saltus the lead in the first minute of the game, placing the ball into the left corner after a good passing sequence. Matteo Aleong leveled the score for Somersfield when he was first to react to a quickly taken corner. Saltus took control of the match in the second with four unanswered goals to secure the championship. Postlethwaite scored another before Adam Barritt added a brace of superb long range efforts. Xavi Dill sealed the win with the fifth Saltus goal just before the final whistle.
“Saltus got past Sandys Secondary Middle School 3-1 in the semi final. Again Postlethwaite gave Saltus the early lead before Kyron Bryan leveled the score for the west enders. Barritt put Saltus ahead in the second half before Mackay Browne sealed the win with Saltus third goal. Two first half goals from Charlie Kilborn and James Cook was enough to get Somersfield Academy into the final with a 2-0 in over the Bermuda Institute.
“Julian Caisey scored the games only goal to see Bermuda Institute claim third place after defeating Sandys 1-0 in the third place match.”
