BMA Gift Drive Brings Holiday Cheer To Families
A staff gift drive at the Bermuda Monetary Authority has collected just over 150 toys and more than $10,500 in gift card vouchers, bringing holiday cheer and much-needed help to children and families in need.
A spokesperson said, “Gift cards included vouchers for BELCO, Lindo’s Market, The Marketplace and Gibbons Company to help families with groceries, clothing and other essential items. The drive was part of a holiday programme led by the Department of Child and Family Services [DCFS].”

Sherrie Walker, Family Preservation Coordinator at the DCFS, said, “We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the BMA for their generous contributions and donations this holiday season. The donations will brighten the lives of children and teens and lessen the financial burden many families experience at this time of the year. We are grateful to the BMA and its staff for bringing a renewed sense of joy and hope to families in need.”
The BMA encouraged employees to join a two-week donation drive by dropping off gifts. Mesheiah Keane, Director of Human Resources, said, “We are delighted to host a holiday gift drive in support of the DCFS, supporting families in need this year. Every holiday season, we are truly inspired by the dedication and generosity displayed by our staff members. We take great pride in our ability to brighten the spirits of those who may be facing challenges, and we look forward to making a positive impact in our community once again.”
The spokesperson said, “The gift drives reflect the BMA’s commitment to supporting social initiatives that have a meaningful impact on the local community. Additionally, the Authority encourages its more than 300 employees to participate in community-based philanthropic initiatives throughout the year. Past initiatives include assisting with fundraising events and other hands-on work that has helped a range of community-serving organisations in Bermuda.
