RUBiS Donates Over $25,000 To Charities
RUBiS Energy Bermuda Ltd. donated over $25,000 to local charities through proceeds from the 2024 RUBiS Calendar.
A spokesperson said, “As part of its commitment to supporting agencies that assist our community, RUBiS Energy Bermuda Ltd. is pleased to announce that multiple local charities have each received a check for $6,298.00. This donation of more than $25,000.00 was raised from the proceeds of the 2024 RUBiS Calendar.”
Mr. Jermaine Simons, Sales Manager of RUBiS, said: “This is the 3rd consecutive year that we have offered coupons with the purchase of the RUBiS Calendar. Customers who redeemed these exclusive discount coupons not only saved at the pump, but also helped greater causes in our community. The proceeds from the sales of the RUBiS Calendar directly supported some of Bermuda’s local charities and their vital work within the community. We hope that these donations will help these charities in the continuation of their efforts to achieve their missions.”
“The designated 2024 charities have missions that support a variety of initiatives that contribute to community-focused areas that include the infant child’s environment, autism services, the education of our marine environment, as well as visual arts & crafts. RUBiS is proud that its Annual Calendar program has been able to make a meaningful impact to the island.”
The spokesperson said, “When notified that they would be a beneficiary of the proceeds from the sale of the 2024 RUBiS Calendar, the responses on how these funds would help further their important work in the community were as follows:”
Ms. Karla Lacey, CEO of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, said, “We were honoured to be selected by the team at RUBiS Bermuda to receive this generous donation. Their recognition and support for the work we do – to ensure the ocean around Bermuda is loved and protected, is truly appreciated.”
Ms. Heidi Cowen, from the Bermuda Arts Centre, said, “We are thrilled to receive your donation. We work tirelessly to support local art, and contributions from companies that believe in our mission are not only welcome but also an honour.”
Ms. Fiona Dill, Director and Trustee of It Takes a Village Foundation, said, “On behalf of the It Takes a Village Foundation, I wanted to thank you and your colleagues again, for choosing the Foundation to benefit from the sales of the 2024 RUBiS Calendar. We couldn’t be more grateful. As you will know our focus is the physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable pregnant women in Bermuda and their babies. We offer support services, that have a direct and positive impact on women’s experience of pregnancy, birth and post-partum that can have a long-term effect on the well-being of the whole family. For those that are struggling financially, we are also able to offer help with BELCO bills, grocery bills and pharmacy purchases. This donation from RUBiS, will ensure the sustainability of our services and helps us be able to support more families.”
Ms. Thea Furbert, Co-Founder & Board Chair, Tomorrow’s Voices – Bermuda Autism Early Intervention Centre, said, “Your donation support along with others have helped in a tremendous way and continue to ensure that we are able to provide these much-needed services to our clients, advancing their social skills, enabling them to be woven seamlessly into the fabric of society.”
Dr. Jahnae Harvey, the Executive Director of Tomorrow’s Voices – Bermuda Autism Early Intervention Centre, said “We are grateful to RUBiS for their support of Tomorrow’s Voices. Their generosity aids us in continuing to subsidize parent fees for our clinical programs, making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.”
Mr. Simons continued, “We are thrilled to be launching the 2025 version of the RUBiS Calendar with a new group of deserving local charities. The response we’ve received over the last few years has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to continue this tradition. The spokesperson said, “100% of the proceeds from the 2025 Calendar will be shared with the following five [5] charities:
- Bermuda Football Association
- Greenrock
- Portuguese Cultural Association
- SCARS Bermuda
- St. John’s Ambulance
“This initiative underscores RUBiS’ ongoing commitment to supporting local causes and fostering a sense of unity within the community.
