Four Election Related Press Conferences Today
With today being the final day before Nomination Day it will be another busy day of election related press conferences; there are four scheduled today, we will be live streaming them here on Bernews.com, as well as our YouTube, Facebook, X and LinkedIn pages.
The FDM have announced seven candidates so far, and are expected to announce additional candidates today, and so far 15 independent candidates have held press conferences to announce that they are running, and two more — Vic Ball and Mstira Weeks — are expected to be announced today.
Assuming there will be no changes of candidates, the PLP have three candidates left to announce, for constituencies 8, 12 and 22. These are all seats currently held by the OBA, and seats the PLP have never won since the one seat system began in 2003.
Assuming all the candidates listed on the OBA website are running, they have three candidates left to announce to make a full 36, and the one seat that many political watchers are keeping an eye on is C20 as the OBA have won that seat in the last three elections with over 78% of the vote every time.
The full list of candidates will not actually be fully confirmed until tomorrow [Jan 31] which is Nomination Day.

Aparantly 40 % of the people decided not to attend the last election for various unknown glaring reasons.
Upon reviewing the slate off candidates island wide i fear that this country will again be at last a loss for competant never the less willing people who able to contribute their time and effort for Bermuda’s well being if it were not for the draw card of money .
Applying for a job is more complicated as skills and education come into question and you do not get to call you salary .
The position that i find my self as a person and our country with a lack of qualified people confronted with a hastily arranged election designed to posibly knock the candidates voters off side being far from ideal from my perception of country and all its people in dire need to be the ultimately benificiary.
The party system has ruined other parties and trash any form of the opposition and got them out of the way.
The party system untimately devides the country.
The party system alienates a large portion of the community . YOU COT NO SAY SO GOT IT !
The party sustem. create poverty .

The part system doe not give people a voice. they do not want to know you .
The party system cost money we dont have.
The party system takes power of their vote away from the people you get to become a nominee
The party system controls every facet of people lives.
The lack of TRUST and ACCOUNTABILITY comes into question mis trust and doubt goes on the table.
IF a Governmeant does no have the backing and suport of all the people all is lost with considerable condemnation.
People do not deal with their elected Parliamentarian they deal with the party through a closed partition window.
I forecast the next four year will be a total failure with considerable hard ship.
May I ask where. is the vision for a brighter future ?
WHY ~~~ The people were not and are today not prepared can people not see over the horizon
INDEPENDANT CANDIDATE
The country needs an highly motivated an educated individual .
The Country needs a business people. ITS IS ALL ABOUT MONEY
The County needs a representative they can put their trust in .
The country does not need aragant leaders
I am saddened that the individual who has been nominated in my area as a member parliament , the highest office in thr land is not up to my standards an there for not acceptable to me .
