BASA Winter Short Course Series Gets Underway
The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association [BASA] launched its Winter Short Course Series at the BASA Pool. The event saw a number of impressive performances from young swimmers.
In the 13-14 girls 100 SC meter freestyle, Scarlett Spurling took first place with a time of 1:04.90. Sofia Leclerc finished second in 1:14.23, while Keira Kearns came in third with a time of 1:20.32.
Rory Shepherd dominated the 13-14 boys 50 SC meter backstroke, touching the wall in 31.09 to secure victory. Lucas Bule finished second in 36.88, and Cameron Duda took third place with a time of 37.37.
The women 15 & over 100 SC meter freestyle saw Jorgia White post the fastest time of the day, clocking 1:04.62. Emilia Dunkerley finished second in 1:12.56, and Rhiana Hayward was third in 1:17.75.
In the men 15 & over 100 SC meter freestyle, Joseph Lau claimed first place with a time of 59.70. Jamie MacFarlane finished close behind in 1:00.26 for second, and Braxton Cooze took third place in 1:03.05.
