Basketball League: Kings & Chargers Win
The Bermuda Basketball Association league season continued with a double-header that saw victories for the Kings and the Chargers.
The Kings overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to defeat the New Era Flyboys 55-53 in overtime at the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium in Bermuda Basketball Association League action.
The Flyboys led 29-14 at halftime, with Akil Smith scoring a team-high. The Kings subsequently outscored the Flyboys in the second half and overtime.
Yusef Te’jour Riley scored 28 points, had 10 rebounds and eight steals for the Kings. Mykal Glasgow added 12 points. Ryan Rabain and Dion Easton each had five rebounds.
Smith finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Flyboys. Jahmair Trott had eight steals.
Separately, the Chargers defeated the Reapers 92-26.
Kevin Stephens scored 25 points, had eight rebounds and eight assists for the Chargers. Steveland Brown-Darrell scored 23 points. Stephens and Calvert Lee each had eight rebounds.
Jason Gonsalves scored 13 points for the Reapers.
