Tennis: U14 Team Compete Against Honduras

Bermuda’s under-14 boys’ tennis team faced a tough challenge against Honduras in the 1-8 portion of the WJT North Central America & Caribbean pre-qualifying tournament in the Dominican Republic, ultimately falling 3 – 0.

Manuel Maldonado took to the court first, but was defeated in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 by Fabian Kafati.

Raul Maldonado then faced Christofer Nunez, but also went down in straight sets, losing 6-0, 6-0.

In the doubles match, Raul Maldonado and Trystan Thompson paired up for Bermuda, but they were defeated 6-3, 6-1 by Kafati and Rene Romero.

Despite the loss, the Bermuda team will have another opportunity to compete as they are scheduled to face Costa Rica in their next match. They will look to regroup and learn from this experience as they continue their journey in the tournament.
