Solstice To Host Free Mental Health Workshops
Solstice announced a series of free community workshops throughout May in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month.
A spokesperson said, “Following the overwhelming positive response to their free workshops during their 10th anniversary, Solstice continues its commitment to supporting community wellbeing by offering new opportunities for connection, healing, and growth.
“Workshops will include an EcoTherapy Walk [May 12], LEGO Therapy for children ages 6-8 [May 19], and Surf Therapy [May 26]. Spaces are limited and interested participants are encouraged to register early by emailing info@solstice.bm.
“In Bermuda, mental health stigma remains a significant barrier to seeking support. Recent findings highlight that while awareness is improving, many individuals still hesitate to access mental health services due to fear of judgment. Solstice hopes these free workshops will create safe, welcoming spaces that normalise conversations around mental health and encourage community-driven healing.
“Solstice is also a proud member of Bermuda’s Mental Health Anti-Stigma Working Group, collaborating with other organisations to advance mental health education, reduce stigma, and advocate for policy changes that better support individuals and families across the island.
“Solstice psychologist, Dr. Lizzy McManus will be speaking on a panel on ‘Learning Differences, Neurodiversity & Mental Health’ at the Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning on May 13th, which is open to the public. Solstice representatives will also be in attendance to answer the public’s questions at the Mental Health Fair on Saturday, May 10th at Bermuda College.”
“We are thrilled to build on the momentum from our 10th anniversary celebrations,” said Kelly Madeiros, Managing Director at Solstice. “By offering these free workshops, we aim to break down stigma, empower individuals to prioritise their mental wellbeing, and show that healing is a collective journey.”
Eloise Pitts Crick, Clinical Director and Co-Founder, added, “Mental health is a community effort. In Bermuda, where stigma can still hold people back, it’s critical we create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected. Through these workshops, and our ongoing work with our Mental Health Anti-Stigma Month partners, we hope to foster resilience, hope, and a real sense of belonging.”
All workshops are free, but registration is required. For more information, email info@solstice.bm or call 441-292-3456.
