Video: Jessica Lewis Wins 200M In Grand Prix
Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis delivered an impressive series of performances at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Switzerland, winning a gold medal in the 200m and bronze medals in both the 100m and 400m events.
Lewis commenced her campaign by claiming a dominant victory in the 200 meters, crossing the finish line some eight seconds ahead of the next competitor. She finished in a time of in 30.81 seconds, Joke Stragier of Belgium finished second with a time of 39.94 seconds, while Gohar Navasardyan from Armenia was third, clocking 1 minute and 36.48 seconds.
The Bermudian Paralympian then added a bronze medal in the T53 Women’s 100 meters. Lewis recorded a time of 16.36 seconds. The event was won by Switzerland’s Catherine Debrunner in 15.20 seconds, with Hamide Dogangun from Turkey taking second place in 16.29 seconds.
Lewis completed her successful meet with another bronze medal, this time in the T53 Women’s 400 meters. She finished with a time of 58.58 seconds. Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland also won this event, while Hamide Dogangun of Turkey was the runner-up.
