Netball: BNA Summer League Results
The Bermuda Netball Association’s summer league season resumed last night at Bernard’s Park, featuring a series of competitive matches across the women’s and co-ed divisions.
The evening’s play included decisive victories as teams competed for top standings.
Women’s Division: Phoenix Flames, PHC Secure Wins
In the Women’s Division, the Phoenix Flames achieved a commanding 38-5 victory over Law & Disorder. Sydney Santos, named best attacker, led the Flames with 11 goals. She was supported by Caillia Joell [10 goals], Uni Simmons [7 goals], Krishay Tucker [6 goals], and Amari Graham [4 goals]. Sanaa Grant earned the Most Valuable Player [MVP] award. For Law & Disorder, MVP and best attacker Kandrea Romaine scored 2 goals, while Terita Flood added 2 and Sarai Paul contributed one. Malacia Madden was recognized as their best defender.
The division’s second match saw PHC defeat St. George’s Cricket Club 25-17. Tyra Simmons was PHC’s leading scorer with 15 goals. Sarafina Woolridge-Burns added 5 goals, best attacker Selah Tuzo contributed 4, and Terita Bean scored twice. Debre Evans was named best defender and MVP for PHC. For St. George’s Cricket Club, MVP Nisaiah Berkeley and Coriah Simmons each scored 7 goals, and Stacey O’Brien added 3. Shawnae Brangman was their best attacker, and Riley Jones their best defender.
Co-ed Division: BHB, Storm Chasers Achieve Victories
In the Co-ed Division, BHB delivered a strong performance, securing a 28-10 win against RenRe. best attacker Sheldon Bahadosingh led BHB’s scoring with 12 goals. Frederica Walker and their best defender each added 6 goals, Kristin Holman scored 3, and Stacey O’Brien contributed one. Demiqua Daniels was named the MVP. For RenRe, MVP Jamie Cedenio scored 6 goals, with best attacker Alice Cedenio and Naron Woods adding 2 goals each. Brighton Swan was their best defender.
The final game of the night concluded with the Storm Chasers defeating the Front Street Mafia 33-14. Storm Chasers’ best attacker Antoine Williams was notable, netting 20 goals. Selah Tuzo added 8 goals, and MVP Amaury Majors scored 5. Josh Hardtman was named the team’s best defender. For the Front Street Mafia, Charlie Evans scored 7 goals, Meg Sherwin added 5, and Jasmine Mapp contributed two. Olivia Bugg was their best attacker, Nathan Clara the best defender, and Jana Philips the MVP.
