Sandys Spartans Claim Win In Smash Opener
Sandys Spartans defeated the Pembroke Panthers by 33 runs in the opening match of the Bermuda Smash Invitational at the North Field, National Sports Centre, on Sunday [June 1].
In a match reduced to eight overs a side because of rain, Spartans scored 104 for the loss of one wicket from eight overs before reducing Panthers to 71 for four their allotted overs.
The second match between Smith’s Sixers and Hamilton Parish Hurricanes was abandoned due to rain.
Two matches are scheduled for today: Hurricanes against Spartans at noon, and Sixers against Panthers at 4.30pm.
