NVCC President Shervin Dill Steps Down
After six decades of service, including 25 years as President, Shervin Dill has stepped down from North Village Community Club.
A spokesperson said, “After an extraordinary 60 years of dedicated service to the North Village Community Club [NVCC], longtime President Shervin Dill has officially stepped down, marking the end of a truly remarkable era.
“Mr. Dill’s tenure spans every level of leadership at the club, beginning as a player in 1965 under coach Doc Dowling, advancing through roles as Chairman of Sports and Vice President, and ultimately serving as President since 2000. Over his 25 years in the top role, Dill helped transform NVCC into one of Bermuda’s most successful and respected community clubs.
“Reflecting on his service, Mr. Dill expressed profound gratitude to the many board members, volunteers, players, and supporters who shared in his vision of making NVCC the island’s number one community club.”
“It has been the honour of my life to serve this club,” Dill said. “Together, we have built a legacy defined not only by championships, but by unity, resilience, and unwavering community spirit.”
The spokesperson said, “During his leadership, NVCC saw historic success both on and off the field, including:
- Youth Football Excellence: U-11 Kappa Champions, U-13 Knockout Champions, U-15 Leonard Holder Champions, U-18 Knockout Champions, and U-23 League Champions.
- Dominance in Senior Football: NVCC’s Premier Team claimed the Premier League Title and FA Cup, with Coach of the Year Calvin “Patches” Dill, MVP Jonte Smith, and Goalkeeper of the Year Deitre Bell. The Masters Team also captured the League title. The senior team has won 57 titles with Dill being at the helm for 33 of them.Netball Milestone: NVCC remains the only netball team active since the sport’s Bermuda debut in 1972, with continued success across both youth and senior divisions.
- Major Infrastructure Investment: Completion of a state-of-the-art lighting system, a $1 million five-year project, positioning the club for evening events and extended use.
“In a parting gesture, Dill thanked the Government of Bermuda for their support and collaboration throughout the years.
“His leadership has left a deep and enduring impact, reinforcing NVCC’s legacy as more than just a sports organization—but a thriving community pillar.”
“Our success is not measured solely by trophies, but by the lives we’ve touched,” Dill said. “Though I step away from the presidency, my heart will always belong to North Village.”
The spokesperson said, “The North Village Community Club, founded in 1957, now moves forward with a bright future ahead—both figuratively and literally—with new leadership in place and the lights shining for next season.”
