Bermuda Anglers Club Concludes With Donations
The Bermuda Anglers Club [BAC] has officially concluded its operations, making final charitable donations to the Bermuda Zoological Society, Waterstart Bermuda, and the Junior Fishing Tournament.
A spokesperson said, “After more than half a century of promoting sport fishing and marine stewardship in Bermuda, the Bermuda Anglers Club [BAC] has formally concluded its operations and has made final charitable donations to three organizations whose missions align closely with the Club’s own values and legacy:
- The Bermuda Zoological Society, to support vital mangrove conservation work at Hungry Bay.
- Waterstart Bermuda, to help local students through experiential marine science education.
- Colin Jones, to ensure continuation of the beloved Junior Fishing Tournament under new leadership.”
“These donations reflect the Bermuda Anglers Club’s long-standing commitment to marine conservation, youth engagement, and community involvement,” said outgoing Club President Cindi Pearman. “It was important to us that our final act supported those who will carry the torch forward.”
The spokesperson said, “Ms. Pearman extended her heartfelt thanks to the many members who served on the Club’s executive over the years and volunteered their time to organize flagship events such as the International Light Tackle Tournament and the Junior Fishing Tournament. She also recognized the steadfast support of Bermuda’s business community, and the spirited camaraderie shared with fellow sport fishing clubs, including Sea Horse Anglers and Blue Water Anglers.
“With these final contributions made and its affairs settled, the BAC officially marks the end of an era in Bermuda’s fishing history.”
