Videos: Bermuda Football Teams Win Openers
Bermuda’s football teams launched their Island Games campaigns with a pair of victories today [July 13], as the men’s under-23 squad and the senior women’s team both secured wins in their opening matches.
The Bermuda men’s under-23 team began their tournament with a solid 2-0 victory over the Western Isles, and later in the day, the Bermuda women’s national team, the defending gold medalists, defeated Jersey 3-1.
The matches, held in Orkney Islands, were part of the first full day of competition, which brings together athletes from over 20 islands around the world, including more than 60 athletes from Bermuda.
