Bermuda Golfers Competing In South Carolina
Eight amateur golfers from Bermuda began competition at the World Amateur Handicap Championships in South Carolina, with several posting strong opening-day results across multiple divisions.
Ann Symonds holds first place in the Senior Women 60 & Above Division [Flight #57] after shooting a net 76. In the same age category [Flight #58], Ann Mitchell is tied for second with a net round of 76, placing her one stroke behind the leader.
In the Women’s Gross Division [Flight #54], Tracy Burgess is in third place with a score of 84, just one stroke off the lead. Morgan Lightbourne, competing in the same flight, is tied for ninth after carding an 89.
Among the men, Richard Marriott is tied for second in the Senior Men’s [50-59] Division [Flight #10] with a net 74. He enters the second round four strokes behind the leader. Anthony Than is tied for 41st in the same flight.
In the Super Senior Men’s [70-79] Division, Gary Venning sits in ninth place in [Flight #47] with a net 76, five strokes from the lead. Frank Morgan is in fourth place in [Flight #49] after posting a net score of 77.
