Update: The live broadcast has concluded and the replay is below

Update 7.09pm: A spokesperson said, “With just five days left until the fundraising deadline, the Gina Spence Program’s Each One Reach One Back-to-School Campaign is making an urgent appeal to the community. The campaign has raised $40,000 toward its $80,000 goal only halfway to ensuring that every child registered can receive a First Day Starter Kit.

“Distribution Day is set for Saturday, August 23, 2025, and already over 400 children are confirmed, with more expected to walk in on the day. Historically, over 500 children register many of them from households impacted by grief and loss, from the death of a loved one, incarceration, and divorce, to job loss and terminal illness.

“The Gina Spence Program extends deep gratitude to those who have already contributed to this year’s campaign, whether through financial gifts, in-kind donations, or volunteer support. Special thanks go to CedarBridge Academy and Mediaville for their continued sponsorship, and to Gibbons Company for their valued partnership in making this initiative possible year after year.

“With just days remaining, the organization is asking Bermuda to help close the gap. A $150 donation sponsors a First Day Starter Kit containing 1 shirt, 1 bottom, 1 pair of socks, 1 multipack of underwear, 1 multipack of undervest and a backpack ensuring that a child starts the school year with confidence.”

“Every child we serve has a story and every dollar donated helps change that story for the better,” Dr. Gina Spence Virgil

Tony Thompson, CEO of Gibbons Company states, “At Gibbons Company, we know that a school uniform is more than just clothing—it’s a symbol of readiness, confidence, and belonging. That’s why, for over a decade, we’ve joined forces with The Gina Spence Program on the Each One Reach One Back to School Campaign. Together, we provide both new and gently used uniforms to children in need across Bermuda, thanks to the generosity of our community. Year after year, we remain dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to step into the classroom feeling prepared and supported.”
