Football: Cougars & St. George’s Colts Win
The Bermuda football season continued with a doubleheader at Bernard Park, featuring victories for the Devonshire Cougars and St. George’s Colts.
Devonshire Cougars 5, Young Men Social Club 0
The Devonshire Cougars secured a decisive 5-0 win over Young Men Social Club in the Group C opener. Chae Brangman initiated the scoring in the seventh minute, followed by a goal from Charmari Burns in the 19th minute. Jayori Fox extended the Cougars’ lead to 3-0 in the 30th minute.
In the second half, Fox scored his second goal in the 57th minute. Brangman completed the scoring with his second goal of the match in the 69th minute.
St. George’s Colts 2, Devonshire Colts 1
In a Group B match, the St. George’s Colts defeated the Devonshire Colts with a 2-1 comeback victory. Devonshire Colts’ Elisha Darrell scored in the 40th minute. St. George’s Colts’ Jarazinho Basset equalized in the first minute of first-half stoppage time.
The winning goal was scored by Jahron Dickinson in the 54th minute, securing the victory for the St. George’s Colts.
