BEN Opens 2025 Teaching Awards Nominations
The Bermuda Education Network [BEN] has opened nominations for the 2025 Teaching Awards.
A spokesperson said, “From P1 to senior school, Bermuda’s public school teachers are shaping futures every day — sparking curiosity, building confidence, and inspiring students to believe in themselves.
“Now, the community has an opportunity to honor those extraordinary educators through the BEN 2025 Teaching Awards, presented in partnership with Allied World, recognizing excellence and innovation across the island’s public schools.
“Students, parents, and fellow teachers are invited to share stories about the educators who have gone above and beyond to make a difference – whether through creative teaching, patient encouragement, or a simple belief in their students’ abilities.”
Last year’s award recipient, Natalie Roberts, reflected on the achievement: “I’m very humbled to receive this award because it recognizes a journey that began when my own children struggled with reading and led me to discover UFLI,” she shared. “I’m grateful to see how the program is now transforming classrooms across Bermuda and helping every child build strong reading foundations, especially in decoding and encoding.”
A spokesperson added, “Her story reflects the spirit of the awards — celebrating educators who turn challenges into opportunities and bring meaningful, lasting change to Bermuda’s public schools.
“The annual awards highlight the heart of education — the powerful connections between teachers and students that spark a lifelong love of learning. Organizers say the nominations often reveal moving stories of mentorship, perseverance, and compassion.”
“These awards are our community’s way of shining a light on those educators who go the extra mile, in and out of the classroom,” said Alexandra Calauro, Awards Project Manager. “We’re grateful to Allied World for helping make this celebration of Bermuda’s public school teachers possible.”
How to Nominate
A spokesperson added, “Nominations are open to public school students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders across Bermuda. Educators from all subject areas are eligible.
“Submissions can be made through the online nomination form at https://www.bermudaeducationnetwork.com/2025-teaching-awards/.
“Community members are asked to share a short story or paragraph explaining why their chosen teacher deserves to be recognized.
