24-year-old Brijette Basden has died following a collision in the United States.

The news report said, “A crash on I-40 westbound Sunday morning claimed the life of a woman and left her sister injured in Durham County.

“Around 4:45 a.m., Brijette Basden, 24, of Kernersville, pulled over on the left side of the interstate near Page Road to switch driving duties with her sister, Asrael Basden. While both sisters were standing outside the Ford Fusion, which was partially in the roadway, they were hit by a 2003 Toyota Camry, Durham police said.

“The Camry, traveling in the far-left lane, also collided with the Ford. It then veered to the right and was struck by a 2021 Toyota Camry traveling in the second lane from the left.

“Brijette Basden was killed in the crash, authorities said. Asrael Basden was taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.

“No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing. All westbound lanes were closed for several hours as authorities completed the on-scene investigation.”
