Muay Thai Athletes Win Gold & Silver In Miami
Bermuda’s Muay Thai team captured two medals, including a gold, at the Pride Muay Thai League tournament in Miami, underscoring the island’s growing presence in international combat sports.
Representing Bermuda were fighters Deonde Morris and Dario Marcianese, who each delivered strong performances against experienced opponents.
Morris claimed the gold medal in his division after defeating an opponent who is a Krav Maga and close-quarters combat instructor. He said he was pleased to return to competition and proud to bring success back home.
Marcianese advanced through the early rounds with an opening win over an opponent with a mixed martial arts background. He went on to the final, where he earned the silver medal after losing by judges’ decision.
