Damien Oliveira Wins Amateur Kickboxing Debut
Bermudian Damien Oliveira won his amateur kickboxing debut by unanimous decision in the 145lb class at the Rising Stars Fight Series 5: Night of Champions Pro/Am in Ontario, Canada.
Oliveira, 15, fought three three-minute rounds to earn a unanimous decision, with judges scoring the contest 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26.
The event, sanctioned by the Ontario Athletic Commission, featured more than 20 amateur junior and professional kickboxing and mixed martial arts bouts.
The main event saw former UFC fighter TJ Laramie face Argentina’s Jesus Ru.
