Greenlight ‘Powering Our Seniors’ Campaign
Through its ‘Powering Our Seniors’ campaign, Greenlight is inviting the community to “nominate seniors for a raffle that will cover up to $1,000 of their November BELCO bill, proving that there’s always something that can be done.”
A spokesperson said, “As electricity rate hikes continue, many Bermudians, especially seniors on fixed incomes, are feeling the strain. While BELCO has pointed to global inflation and infrastructure costs as contributing factors, Greenlight Energy is focusing on compassion.”
“We started this campaign because too many Bermudians need immediate relief,” said Cameron Smith, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Greenlight Energy. “Greenlight was built to help people take control of their energy, but that mission has always been bigger than solar. At the end of the day, it’s about neighbors helping neighbors.”
How to Enter
The spokesperson said, “Submissions are now open for two weeks [November 10th - 24th]. Seniors, or family and friends submitting on their behalf, can apply by emailing info@greenlightenergy.bm with:
- Name of the senior
- Age [65+]
- Best contact email and/or phone number
- A short story answering: ‘What are your thoughts on the current situation, and how has it affected you?’
“At the close of the submission period, all eligible entries will be entered into a raffle draw, where 10 seniors will be selected to have their November BELCO bill [up to $1,000] paid in full.”
“We’re looking to lead by example,” said Cameron Smith. “We’re showing that when you have the means to help, you should. Hopefully, we can inspire others, including BELCO, to do the same.”

Both Greenlight and BELCO are misleading the public with this climate change lie, that is increasingly being debunked.
Now add the cost of a $250+ MILLION offshore wind farm plus a guaranteed revenue stream to investors to your monthly bill. The UK just admitted it was fooled big time by the numbers provided by wind farm vendors.
Headline: MILIBAND ADMITS WIND POWER LESS RELIABLE THAN EXPECTED – The Telegraph 28 Oct 2025 – Energy Secretary would have to pay higher subsidies, making it harder to reach clean power targets
THE GOVERNMENT HAS SLASHED FORECASTS FOR THE AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY IT EXPECTS WIND FARMS TO GENERATE IN A BLOW TO ED MILIBAND’S NET ZERO PLANS.
IN DOCUMENTS PUBLISHED BEFORE AN AUCTION OF GREEN ENERGY SUBSIDIES THIS WEEK, OFFICIALS SAID THEY WERE REVISING DOWN THE PREDICTED EFFICIENCY OF WIND TURBINES BY MORE THAN A QUARTER AS A RESULT OF “UPDATED MODELLING”.
Experts said the change would mean that the Energy Secretary would have to pay higher subsidies to wind farms to secure the same amount of energy, making it harder to hit Labour’s clean power targets.
The Government’s new estimates slashed the predicted “load factor” – the proportion of the year turbines are expected to generate power – from 61pc to 43.6pc for offshore wind. The estimated load factor for onshore turbines was also revised down, from 48.7pc to 33.4pc.
(43.6/61 = 71.47% of original projection – offshore)
(33.4/48.7 = 68.58% of original projection – on shore)
PUFFERY
THE CHANGES WERE BLAMED ON NEW MODELLING SHOWING THAT WIND TURBINES GENERATED LESS POWER AT VARIOUS WIND SPEEDS THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT, AS WELL AS UPDATED ASSUMPTIONS ON WHAT CAN CAUSE TURBINES TO LOSE POWER. (aka, wind theft)
