Bermuda Netball League Continues
The Bermuda Netball Association league season resumed at Bernard Park with matches across all age groups.
Storm Surge defeated St. George’s 53-14. Rihanna Reddicks led all scorers with 24 goals and was named Best Attacker. Inshan-Nae Smith added 15 goals and Kaamilah Nasir scored 14. Debre Evans was named Best Defender, while Selah Tuzo earned the Most Valuable Player award. For St. George’s, Stacy-Ann Brown scored 8 goals and Druw Bascome added 6.
Tigers beat North Village Lady Rams 38-27. Jahkenya Trott scored 26 goals for Tigers, with Jahtuere Trott adding 10 and Candace Paynter contributing 2. North Village’s scorers included Zhanae Simmons with 11 goals and Darrika Simons with 7. Mali Smith was named the match MVP for the Lady Rams.
In the 16 & Under Division, North Village Lady Rams recorded a 41-13 win over Dandy Stars. Dani Brown scored 24 goals and S’Mai Tyrrell added 13. Keiazha Smith was named MVP. In another 16 & Under match, Phoenix Fire defeated Storm 22-11. Caillia Joell scored 11 goals and A’meerah Richardson-Swan added 10 for Phoenix. Storm’s Diya Steede scored 6 goals, and Vongai Benza was named MVP.
The 13 & Under Division saw Phoenix Embers defeat Storm Lightning 20-10. Quin Burgess scored 16 goals and was named MVP along with K’ah Seymour. In another match, Storm Thunder beat Dandy Stars 15-9, with Honor White scoring 10 goals.
Storm Nexgen edged Atlantic Aces 36-34. Jamir Hatherley scored 18 goals and J’zari Zuill-Dillas added 15 for Storm. Atlantic Aces were led by Jasmine Mapp with 18 goals and Charlotte Evans with 16. Evans was named MVP for the Aces, while Hatherley earned MVP honors for Storm.
In the non-competitive 10 & Under Division, scores were not recorded. In the match between Dandy Stars and North Village Lady Rams, Caie Rogers was named MVP for Dandy Stars and Lola Wilson for North Village. In the Storm versus Phoenix Sparks game, Sarena Frederick was named MVP for Storm and Iyla Bascome for Phoenix Sparks.
