The Progressive Labour Party will unveil the official portrait of Dr. Ewart Brown on Thursday.

A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party [PLP] will host the official unveiling of the portrait of Dr. the Hon. Ewart Brown, JP, former Leader of the Progressive Labour Party and former Premier of Bermuda, on Thursday, 15 January 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Party’s headquarters in the Reginald A. Burrows Building, 16 Court Street.

“The unveiling marks a significant moment in the Party’s history, recognising Dr. Brown’s leadership and his contributions to national development, social progress, and the advancement of the Progressive Labour Party.

“The portrait will take its place among those of other distinguished leaders who have shaped the PLP and Bermuda’s modern political landscape.”

Party Chair Dawn Simmons remarked, “As the Leader of the Progressive Labour Party, Dr Brown provided admirable leadership and created opportunities for many Bermudians. I learned much from him serving in various capacities, especially as Campaign Chairman in 2007 and later being the Executive Officer of the PLP,”

Dr. Brown extended an invitation to party members and the wider community to attend the event, stating: “This unveiling is not about one individual, but about the collective journey of a Party and a people committed to progress, justice, and opportunity. I warmly invite PLP members and the public to join us as we reflect on our shared history and renew our commitment to the work that still lies ahead.”

A spokesperson added, “Members of the public, PLP members, and supporters are encouraged to attend this commemorative occasion.”
