Sancho Smith Earns All-Conference Honors

Bermudian runner Sancho Smith delivered a series of strong performances at the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, helping Clayton State University secure a fifth-place team finish.

The meet was held at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center, where Smith earned All-Conference honors as part of a medal-winning relay team.

In the Men’s 4×400 meters relay, Smith combined with Marcus Robinson, Drewmel Banks and Davonte Jackson to record a time of 3 minutes, 20.07 seconds, finishing third in the final event of the championships to claim the bronze medal.

Smith also competed in multiple individual and relay events earlier in the meet. In the Men’s 800 meters, he placed seventh overall in 1:55.40. He later contributed to the Men’s 4,000 meters distance medley relay team, which finished fifth in 10:49.02.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University won the men’s team title, while Clayton State’s fifth-place result matched its preseason projection in the coaches’ poll. The team’s overall performance included several personal and program records.
