Toyota Honours Bermuda Motors Partnership

Bermuda Motors has been recognised by Toyota Motor Corporation with a commemorative plaque marking 50 years of “partnership and service.”

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Motors Limited is proud to announce that it has been recognized by Toyota Motor Corporation with a commemorative plaque in celebration of 50 years of partnership and service.

“Bermuda Motors first launched the sale of Toyotas on 13 September 1971, marking its entry into the local automotive market with the introduction of the Toyota Corolla. Since that time, the company has continued to offer a wide range of Toyota vehicles to meet the evolving needs of Bermuda’s market, including passenger cars, commercial vans, and trucks.

    I remember when the first shipments of Toyotas arrived here. They were looked at a little suspiciously at first being the first Japanese cars imported but then people began snapping them up as they came with radios and tinted glass.
    Unfortunately , in spite of their sound engineering , they couldn’t tolerate our salty , damp climate and rusted out very quickly.
    Boy have they ever come a long way. Now one of the best cars for the buck that you can buy anywhere .
