One person was injured and another person was arrested for “failing to remain at the scene of an injury collision” following a two-vehicle collision this morning [April 27] in Devonshire, which resulted in one vehicle overturning on its side.

A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before 9:00 a.m on Monday, April 27, 2026, police and other first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision at the junction of Palmetto Road and Dock Hill in Devonshire.

“Initial information suggests that one vehicle was positioned in the roundabout, attempting to exit onto Dock Hill, when a second vehicle traveling east along Palmetto Road entered the roundabout and collided with the rear of the first vehicle. The impact caused the first vehicle to overturn onto its side.

That is a nasty intersection. People speed through there all the time and don’t look at the other traffic coming from other directions. It is a wonder more accidents don’t occur. Even worse, try navigating that circle on a bicycle!

Well for almost killing a 16 yr old rider, fleeing the scene to a bar, refusing an alcohol test so therefore guilty only gets you a 6 month suspended sentence, an even lesser slap on the wrist will be the result.
