Video: King Charles III Visiting Bermuda In 1970
Ahead of King Charles III’s visit to Bermuda this week, here’s a quick look back at his 1970 visit to the island when he came as a young prince over 50 years ago.
In announcing the King’s upcoming visit the Bermuda government said, “His Majesty’s last official visit to Bermuda was in 1970, to read the Speech from the Throne, officially opening the 350th year of parliamentary government in Bermuda. The last visit by a Sovereign to the island was in 2009, when Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited Bermuda to join celebrations of the 400th anniversary of settlement.”
