Barnett & Medeiros-Cooke Begin NORCECA Tour
Bermudian beach volleyball players Benjamin Barnett and Braedon Medeiros-Cooke lost their opening two matches in straight sets during the preliminary pool stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour on Friday.
The tournament features 14 men’s teams from 11 nations competing in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
In their opening match, the Bermudian duo faced the United States team of Paul Lotman, a former indoor Olympian, and Brian Miller. Lotman and Miller defeated Barnett and Medeiros-Cooke 2-0, finishing with set scores of 21-8 and 21-7.
Barnett and Medeiros-Cooke played their second match against Rubén Alejandro Mora Romero and Jefferson De Jesus Cascante Herrera of Nicaragua. The Nicaraguan team won the match 2-0, with set scores of 21-10 and 21-13.
