Collision: One Woman Injured, One Arrested
One woman was injured and another woman was arrested following a collision early this morning [May 24] in Paget.
A police spokesperson said, “At approximately 3:35am, Sunday, May 24, 2026, Police as well as Emergency Medical Services [EMS] were dispatched to a reported two vehicle road traffic collision involving a motor car and motorbike on Middle Road, near junction with Berwyn Hill, Paget.
“It appears the motorcar was traveling in a westerly direction along Middle Road, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a wall. The motorcar overturned and landed on its roof. The motorcycle which was traveling in the same direction, then collided with and became embedded in the side of the overturned car.
“Upon arrival, officers found the driver of the car and the bike rider, both females, lying on the roadway, being assisted by members of the public. The bike rider appeared to have sustained serious head and other injuries. The motorcar driver was not reported to have been seriously injured.
“Both women were attended to at the scene by EMS personnel and transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
“The motorcar driver who became combative at the scene was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
“The roadway remained closed for approximately four hours while the collision scene was processed. Traffic was diverted at the junction of Middle Road and Ord Road, as well as Middle Road and Valley Road.
