Sailors Compete In National Semifinals
Bermudian sailors Christian Ebbin, PJ Rodrigues and Jordan Vieira are competing at the College Open Eastern National Semifinals in South Florida, where teams are vying for places in the national finals in the 420 Fleet competition.
Ebbin helped Tulane University make a strong start to the regatta, with the team sitting fourth overall on 44 points after the opening races.
Sailing Tulane’s B Division boat, Ebbin finished the opening day eighth in the division with 16 points as the team remained in contention near the top of the standings.
Rodrigues and Vieira, representing Eckerd College, faced a more difficult start to the competition, with the team placed 16th overall on 79 points.
Rodrigues competed in Eckerd’s A Division boat and ended the day 17th in the division with 58 points.
Vieira sailed Eckerd’s B Division boat and finished 15th in the division with 28 points.
