Hamilton & Sousa Compete In San Salvador
Bermuda’s Kyle Hamilton and Brandon Sousa were defeated in straight sets by the Dominican Republic on day two of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in San Salvador.
Hamilton and Sousa returned to competition at the Flor Blanca Sports Complex after receiving a bye in their final Pool B match, advancing directly to the classification semi-finals for places nine through 12.
The Dominican Republic pair of Francisco De Jesús and Oscar José Martínez won 21-7, 21-14.
De Jesús and Martínez took control early, limiting the Bermudian pair to seven points in the opening set.
Hamilton and Sousa produced a stronger performance in the second set, but the Dominican duo maintained the advantage and secured the victory.
With the loss, Hamilton and Sousa advanced to the final day of competition in El Salvador, where they are scheduled to face A’jahnai Merchant and De Andrae Taylor of the U.S. Virgin Islands in a playoff for 11th and 12th place.
