“Art Month is a celebration of the incredible creativity that exists throughout Bermuda,” said Jasmine Furbert, director of visitor experiences. “Whether you’re an established organisation, an emerging artist, a performer, a maker or a cultural storyteller, we want to help shine a spotlight on the experiences you are creating and connect them with wider audiences.”

A spokesperson added, “Now in its fourth year, Art Month offers residents and visitors a curated showcase of Bermuda’s cultural landscape. Participating events benefit from coordinated promotional support, helping organisers increase visibility, and attract audiences throughout October.

“The BTA is seeking a diverse range of experiences that reflect Bermuda’s creative identity, including visual arts exhibitions, gallery openings, artist talks, live music, dance and theatre performances, literary events, film screenings, cultural tours, heritage experiences, culinary arts programming, workshops, demonstrations and open studio events.

“While the BTA conducts annual outreach through its existing networks, this public invitation is intended to ensure the broadest possible participation and encourage creatives who may not already be connected to the programme to get involved.

“Art Month also supports Bermuda’s growing cultural tourism offering by creating opportunities for visitors to engage with local artists and authentic cultural experiences. Throughout the year, the BTA works with Bermudian artists, writers, performers and cultural practitioners to identify opportunities that elevate their work and showcase Bermuda’s creative talent through both on-island and international programming.

“While these opportunities vary from year to year, recent examples have included featuring a Bermudian artist during Miami Art Week, securing international media exposure for local creatives in publications such as Black Enterprise, and highlighting the work of Bermudian artists through a partnership with Travel + Leisure that displayed their artwork on digital billboards in New York City’s Times Square. By creating diverse platforms for exposure and engagement, the BTA helps broaden the visibility of Bermuda’s creative community while strengthening the island’s reputation as a vibrant cultural destination.

“Creatives interested in participating are encouraged to begin planning events and experiences for October. For more information about participating in Bermuda Art Month, contact experiences@bermudatourism.com.”
