Isai Gibbons Commits To Saint Mary’s University
Saint Mary’s University has announced that Bermuda footballer Isai Gibbons has committed to join the Huskies men’s soccer programme for the 2026 season.
A spokesperson said, “Saint Mary’s men’s soccer head coach Mesut Mert is pleased to announce the commitment of Isai Gibbons to the Huskies line-up for the upcoming 2026 season.
“A 5’9” winger / full back from Bermuda, Isai Gibbons joins the Huskies out of Saltus Grammar School and St. George’s Colts.
“Gibbons recently represented his home country of Bermuda at the 2026 CONCACAF U20 Championship qualifying tournament, and at the U17 World Cup qualifiers in 2025.
“Gibbons plays club for the St. George’s Colts in the Bermuda Men’s Premier Division, the highest level of professional football in Bermuda, who recently were defeated in the semifinal of Bermuda’s F.A Challenge Cup.
“Gibbons previously represented FC Bascome at the U13 to U18 levels, helping lead his team to a league championship in 2024-25. He was nominated as Bermuda’s Young Player of the Year in both 2026 and 2025, and also competed in the 2026 Bermuda U18 All-Star game.
“Gibbons is described as a versatile, passionate and calculated team player who can adapt his play and position as the game develops.”
“I am very excited to commit to Saint Mary’s to play soccer, and I believe that I can bring something special to the team,” said Gibbons, whose father graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2006. “I look forward to getting on the pitch, settling into a new environment and building a relationship with my new teammates.”
A spokesperson added, “Gibbons will be studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary’s, with plans to major in Management.”
