Netball: PHC, Phoenix, Allshores & Storm Win
The PHC Lady Zebras, Phoenix Blaze, Allshores, and Storm Chasers all secured victories in the latest round of Summer Netball League matches across the Women’s and Coed Divisions.
In the opening match of the Women’s Division, the PHC Lady Zebras defeated the Netball Bermuda Under-21 Academy 22-21. Nisaiah Berkeley scored 14 goals for PHC, while Sonja Townsend added eight. For the Under-21 Academy, Mayah Williams-Johnson scored 12 goals.
Jordyn Ming was named most valuable player and best attacker for the Lady Zebras, and Debre Evans was selected as best defender. For the academy team, Naomi Crofton earned most valuable player honors, Williams-Johnson was named best attacker, and Nyli Grant was selected as top defender.
In the second Women’s Division fixture, Phoenix Blaze defeated Tropical Storm 33-14. Danielle Raynor led the scoring with 27 goals, earning the most valuable player award. Jaya Dillas scored five goals and was named top attacker, while Kiante Lightbourne was recognized as the top defender for Phoenix.
For Tropical Storm, Williams-Johnson scored six goals. Honor White was named most valuable player for the Storm, Gabriella Babon was selected as top attacker, and T’jaia Butler earned best defender honors.
In the Coed Division, Allshores secured a 34-17 victory over RenRe. Sheldon Bahadosingh scored 23 goals for Allshores. Synsir Lowe-Lowe was named most valuable player, Keedai Astwood was selected as top attacker, and Kenszo Iris was named best defender.
For RenRe, Coriah Simmons scored 10 points and earned top attacker honors. Cruz Cedenio was named most valuable player, and Alice Cedenio was selected as the best defender.
In the final Coed Division match, the Storm Chasers defeated Baileys Bay 39-13. Antoine Williams scored 34 goals to lead the Storm Chasers and was named most valuable player. Josh Hardtman was selected as best attacker, and Kauai Evans earned the best defender award.
For Baileys Bay, Alexia Pascall scored seven goals, while Jordyn Morris was named the team’s most valuable player. Samario Paul was selected as best attacker, and Cashun Brangman was named top defender.
