Adrian Roach Boxing Bout Cancelled
Professional boxer Adrian Roach had his bout cancelled after American opponent Jerrell Mayweather withdrew from their welterweight contest on Saturday [June 6].
Roach [2-0] was scheduled to face Mayweather [5-0] on the undercard of compatriot Andre Lambe’s welterweight clash with American Pryce Sparrow at the Galveston Island Convention Centre in Galveston, Texas.
“My opponent weighed in and everything – he came in overweight – but ended up pulling out,” Roach told Bernews.
It is not the first time Roach has been affected by a late withdrawal.
In March, a scheduled bout in Greensboro, North Carolina, was cancelled at the last minute after his opponent pulled out shortly before the fight.
