The Paget Parish Council is inviting residents and members of the wider Bermuda community to attend a Public Meeting featuring a special keynote presentation entitled “Understanding Dementia: Building a More Caring Community.”

A spokesperson said, “The guest speaker will be Erica Fulton, Executive Director of Dementia Bermuda, who will provide valuable insights into dementia, including common signs and symptoms, the impact on families and caregivers, and practical ways communities can become more supportive and inclusive.

“The presentation aims to encourage open conversation, reduce stigma, and foster greater awareness and compassion. The Public Meeting and 2026 AGM will take place on Thursday, June 25 at 5:30pm at Paget Gospel Chapel Hall, 44 Middle Road, Paget.

“This year’s meeting will commence with the 2026 Scholarship Award presentations followed by the keynote speaker concluding with Parish business items from about 6:45pm for the residents of Paget.”

Mrs. Fulton shared, “We know that many families in Bermuda have been touched by dementia in some way. Through education and understanding, we can build stronger communities that support individuals living with dementia and those who care for them.”

Paget Parish Council Chairperson Bill Pitman said, “We thank Dementia Bermuda for sharing knowledge and expertise and we enthusiastically welcome our community members for an informative and meaningful discussion on a topic that affects us all.”
