One Injured In Two Vehicle Collision In Sandys
A two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car occurred in Sandys shortly after midnight [June 19].
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after midnight on Friday, June 19, 2026, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious two vehicle collision on Somerset Road, near the junction with Gilbert Lane in Sandys.
“Initial information suggests that both vehicles were travelling in an easterly direction when the driver of the motorcar attempted to turn onto Gilbert Lane. At the same time, the motorcycle rider reportedly attempted to overtake the car.
“The motorcycle rider sustained potentially serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the car is not reported to have been injured.
