Phillips & Seleznev Defeated In Quarter Finals
Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips was eliminated from the doubles draw at the M15 Kayseri 3 tournament in Turkey, falling in the quarter-finals alongside partner Bogdan Seleznev.
Phillips and Seleznev were defeated by Bulgaria’s Dinko Dinev and Viktor Markov in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
The Bermudian-Russian pair had advanced to the last eight after defeating Timofei Derepasko and Daniil Stepanov 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 in the opening round.
Dinev and Markov took control of the quarter-final by winning the opening set 6-2 before Phillips and Seleznev produced a stronger challenge in the second set.
The second set remained close before Dinev and Markov edged it 7-5 to secure the victory and advance to the semi-finals.
The doubles defeat came after Phillips had also exited the singles draw, falling to American Maxwell McKennon 2-6, 5-7 in the quarter-finals.
