Photos & Video: Portuguese Tall Ship Arrives

The Portuguese tall ship ‘NRP Sagres’ arrived in Bermuda yesterday [June 10], with the historic vessel docking in Hamilton on Front Street as its arrival coincided with Portugal Day.

Honorary Consul of Portugal in Bermuda Andrea Moniz-DeSouza previously said, “The Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Bermuda is delighted to welcome the Portuguese Navy’s iconic training ship, NRP Sagres, to Bermuda from 10 – 14 June.

“The NRP Sagres is one of Portugal’s most recognized national symbols and serves as a training vessel for Portuguese Naval cadets. This visit offers a unique opportunity for Bermuda residents and visitors to step aboard and experience a piece of Portugal’s proud maritime heritage.”

This is the latest European tall ship to visit the island in recent days following after the French tall ship ‘Belle-Poule’ and the German tall ship ’Gorch Fock’.
