Volleyball Teams Continue NORCECA Tour
Bermuda’s beach volleyball teams competed on the second day of pool play and classification matches at the sixth stop of the NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball Tour in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic.
In the women’s division, the Bermudian pairing of Megan Hands and Natalie Gazzard played their final Pool D match against Shanella Harris and Jontelle Hensley of St. Kitts and Nevis, winning 2-0 with set scores of 21-14 and 21-16.
Hands and Gazzard then advanced to the 9th-12th place classification playoffs, where they faced Joanna Robinson and Luna Ebanks of the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands duo won the match 2-0 with scores of 21-16 and 21-12.
In the men’s division, Bermuda’s Kyle Hamilton and Sean Tucker faced Mexico’s Antonio Lares and Carlos Ayala in their final Pool B match. Lares and Ayala won 2-0 with scores of 21-14 and 21-13.
Hamilton and Tucker then moved into the 13th-16th place classification playoffs against Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynee of the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands pair won the match 2-0 with scores of 21-16 and 21-8.
